In a few hours, the face of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele gets a complete makeover. The sea of American tourists becomes a small selection influential people. The nonchalant locals now numb to the place are replaced by a myriad of cameras obsessed by the Milanese monument. Not only witnessed by the duomo pigeons, this transformation will be watched all around the world for a memorable show in the honor of our city and Italian’s craftsmanship.
As nobody knows Milan better than Milanese, we decided to ask our Bs4F members their predictions for this historic show. Here we give you a glimpse of what the show might have looked like with us as its creative directors.
Making choices is difficult but we need a winner. Which Italian house should be the most acclaimed?

After long debates and controversial results, Gucci would be the star of our show. The house has known thousands of identities and presented the most iconic as well as the most detested looks of Italian fashion. Thinking of Gucci we are torn between the nostalgia of Tom Ford, who kicked into the Italian identity to renew it, and Michele’s acclaimed genius that represented the best of Italian craftsmanship. Over the decades, Gucci has built, dismantled, and reshaped what it means to be an Italian house. Even crisis after crisis, the Jackie remains a staple item and the double G is never unnoticed. With now Demna at the head, the house looks at the future and owns its place at Vogue World.
Just like its people, Italian fashion is loud, bold, and daring. Which look has shaped Italian fashion’s history and should be remembered?

From Schiaparelli surrealist dresses to Richard Gere’s Giorgio Armani suits in American Gigolo, many masterpieces were presented. Yet, it is the Versace fall/winter 1991 show that kept our attention. At the time, two different kinds of models existed: the runway and the magazine models. Gianni Versace didn’t care, and for the first time in fashion history he put on the runway the magazine models Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista. This bold move shaped fashion forever and started the era of supermodels, a system of stars still on-going on social medias.
In spite of being the most fashionable nation, Italians have sometimes made fashion faux pas. Which look/ designer/ adv should be forgotten this Tuesday?

Looking at the past we must remain critical, and unfortunately one brand didn’t pass the test of time: Dolce&Gabbana. This is not a critique of their style but rather of their ads. Year after year, they have promoted a very traditional vision of the family and Italian identity. A key component of success is talking to present challenges, unfortunately the duo has often been one step behind and some of these ads didn’t age well.
Every show needs a great soundtrack, past editions have featured Doja Cat, FKA Twigs, and Aya Nakamura. Which Italian voice(s) would best fit the show?

This show represents the past, present and future of Italian craftsmanship and BS4f members all agreed to feature this concept in the choice of singers. For the voice of traditional Italy: Andrea Bocelli is called to perform ( a toughcall as Mina was very close in the polls). Accompanied by the pop star and icon Elodie, they would put on a wonderful show.
Through Demna’s cartography of the Milanese fashionista, choose who gets a sit next to Anna Wintour.

Only one person has simultaneously the prestige and the audacity to take a sit next to Anna Wintour: the Milanese Sciura. Symbol of the city, irreverent and adopting an unapologetic style, the Sciura is proudly representing us.
Through Demna’s cartography of the Milanese fashionista, choose who stays at the door.

While the Sciura’s dog did get in, hidden in her coat’s fur, the Figo’s admission was denied. Also known as the “tamarro”, the bouncer might have found his logo-covered outfit too tacky for the event.
Yet a final question stayed on our mind for tonight: would Anna Wintour be wearing Prada?
The results speak for themselves.
